That voice. Thats what stays in the forefront of my memory. The melodic intonations, the playfulness, the desire and wanting I can hear, want to act on. I wish he was here. I wish I could put my arms around him, to let him know how I feel. He is more to me than a man. He is my friend first, my best friend. He knows my mind, how it works. He knows my body, and what it takes to make me his, and his alone. He knows my soul, what makes me tick, what my dreams are, what my fears are, and he doesnt judge me, just holds me and tells me everything is okay. He makes me smile when nothing else can. He loves my unconditionally. He accepts every part of me for what it is. He knows what makes me happy, what makes me mad. He knows what makes me sad, and what to do or to say to bring me up again. He knows to stay away when I need the space, and he knows to just be there, be near me when I am not in a good place. He doesnt push me to be what I am not. Yet he encourages me to be the best at what I do excel at. He laughs at me when I dance around the room, no music playing but the song in my head that is moving me. He giggles when I talk to the dogs like they are kids and understand every word I say. I know they dont understand, but I do it anyway. He gets excited over minor accomplishments I make, and feels my pain when I fail. He cries with me when life just gets way to heavy to handle. He knows how to touch me. He knows my body better than I do. He has learned every nook and cranny of me. He knows how to kiss me to make me respond the way he wants. He knows just where to touch me to make my knees weak, make my heart beat just that much faster, take my breath away. He knows what to whisper in my ear to make me his, and only his. He knows how to love me. How to take me to that place only two people can go. That place where no one else matters, where nothing can touch us for that moment in time. I ache for him now.
